Intelligent microsystems and sensors
It encompasses the integration of sensors, both physical and (bio)chemical, microsystems (MEMs, NEMs) and signal processing systems, based on recognition and learning through artificial intelligence and machine learning methods. This fusion of sensors and microsystems with AI offers great expectations in applications such as environment, automotive, robotics and domotics, surveillance, health and agriculture. The use of multisensor systems requires complex sensory fusion techniques in order to obtain accurate measurement results, using hardware learning techniques that automatically adapt to the physical imperfections of the systems, while extracting and learning more abstract high-level representations.
